Biography
Gordon Murray's photographs are guided by a restless curiosity, sense of humor and adventure. Visual puns, quiet riddles, and delicately bent allegories surface within compositions rich in hidden imagery and layered meaning, drawing viewers deeper into his imagination. The stories behind the work are as compelling as the images themselves.
He signs work with his common name and adds a footnote in Latin—borrowed from a Renaissance painter—acknowledging the artist as both creator and witness. (Translation: "Joe was here.")
He is the author of Lost In Oscar Hotel: There is Something in the Air.
